
RUT Course for Engineers
RUT stands for Refresher and Upgradation Training. It is a mandatory course approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (D.G. Shipping), Government of India, aimed at revalidating and upgrading the competency certificates of marine engineers and other seafaring officers.
Who Should Attend the RUT Course?
The RUT course is specifically designed for:
Marine Engineers holding a Certificate of Competency (COC) that is due for revalidation.
Engineers who have not sailed for more than 5 years.
Engineers seeking revalidation of their MEO Class I (Chief Engineer) or MEO Class II (Second Engineer) COC.
Officers who require DGS-approved upgradation to meet the STCW Convention 2010 Manila Amendments.

📅 Course Duration

🎓 Certification & Validity
After successful completion of the RUT course:
A Certificate of Course Completion is issued.
It is submitted to D.G. Shipping as part of the COC revalidation process.
The revalidated COC is valid for 5 years.
