Description/precaution
Lifting
gear:
1. Any device
or appliance used for lifting any object is known as lifting gear
2.
Examples of lifting gears are chain blocks, tackles, cranes,
derricks

Safe working
load
1. It is the
maximum safe force that a piece of lifting equipment, lifting device or
accessory can exert to lift, suspend, or lower a given mass without fear of
breaking
2. Safe working
load is usually marked on the equipment by the manufacturer
3. Before using
any lifting appliance, one should always check whether the object to be lifted
is within the safe working load of the lifting appliance.

if the load is more than the safe working load, one should never
use that particular lifting device
