Precaution to be observed:

USE OF VALVE:

Globe valve: Onboard the
ship mostly globe valve is used in the steam line and bilge line.

Gate valve: The gate
valve is mostly used onboard the ship where full flow of the liquid required.

Butterfly valve: The butterfly valve is
used in the ballast system.

Ball valve: The ball
valve is used to quick shut of the action.

Spring loaded valve: The valves which are
operated by the spring force action comes under the spring loaded valve
.
