 TAKE ABOUT 3 TURNS OF HAWSER ON THE WARPING DRUM SO THAT IT DOES
NOT SLIP

 WHEN
TRANSFERING THE WEIGHT OF THE HAWSER FROM THE WARPING DRUM TO

 THE BOLLARD, ALWAYS USE STOPPERS

 NEVER USE THE HAND OR FOOT TO STOP A HAWSER IN MOTION

 GLOVES SHOULD BE OF APPROPRIATE SIZE WHILE HANDLING HAWSERS

 DO NOT STAND
IN THE SNAP BACK ZONE OF THE HAWSER IN TENSION

 KEEP CLEAR OF THE BIGHT OF THE ROPE

 GOOD COMMUNICATION SHOULD BE MAINTAINED BETWEEN
THE WINCH OPERATOR & THE OFFICER IN CHARGE
