to be observed:

should be free from oil and grease.

wear loose clothing.

: Identify hazards and demonstrate the safety precaution to be observed

                       Prior commencement and
during arc welding.

  Aims:

What are the
welding hazards?

What safety
precaution to be followed during arc welding and before starting arc welding.

 

Requirement for performing the task:

1.    
Reference
theory from MEK text book.

2.    
All PPE such
as welding apron, face shield, etc.

 

Precaution
to be observed:

 

1.     Wear proper PPE

2.     Surface should be free from oil and grease.

3.     There should not be any flammable material.

4.     Welding should not be carried out on wooden surface.

5.     No combustible material should be present.

6.     Firefighting equipment should be available in welding area.

7.     Welding area should have 
well ventilation

8.      Electrical part should
not touch by naked hand.

9.     Welding should not carry out on wet surface.

10.                         
Use face
shield with proper filter.

                     (Single butt)

 

Aims:

prepare two plates for butt joint by arc welding.

What are the
types of welding joints?

 

Requirement for performing the task:

1.    
Reference theory
from MEK text book.

2.    
Metal peace

3.    
Welding machine,
electrode, etc.

Precaution
to be observed:

1.     Wear proper PPE

2.     Select the electrode according to the metal thickness.

3.     Make sure there should not be any combustible material present.

4.     Fire fighting extinguisher should be present.
