  Aims:

duties of engine room are.

to report OOW.

theory book.

Precaution
to be observed:

1.     Follow
the proper safety instructions.

2.     Wear
PPE at all the time.

ENGINE ROOM DUTIES: The following duties we should perform in engine
room.

 

1.     Assist the duty engineer officer
during maintenance work.

2.     Keep the engine room clean and
tidy at all the time.

3.     Check the various parameters
during the walk around in the engine room.

4.     Check for any leakage from the
machineries. If found immediately report to the OOW / duty engineer.

5.     Check the header tanks water
level if less than refills it.

6.     Check the sounding of all engine
room tanks.

7.     Check for the abnormal noise and
vibration if found report to the OOW.

8.     Look after engine room stores
and spares.

9.     Paint the engine room.

10.                      
Clean engine parts and all machinery.

11.                      
Lubricate moving parts of engine, machinery and equipments as
instructed.

12.                      
Operate the machinery pumps and valves under the guidance of
ship’s engineer.
